floR's adventures - Thessaloniki revisited

On quite a short notice I went on a trip to Thessaloniki in July. Since a few months I had been communicating with the girl I met 4 years ago when I was doing a project at the TEI there. And both her and I appeared to have feelings for each other, feelings that were getting stronger with each mail that we sent.

For 4 years we had had no contact whatsoever. Well, the entire history is on the other page, so I will not go deeper into that here. The amazing thing however, was that she searched, found and contacted me after all these years.

Of course, the cynic that I am, was reluctant to believe that in fact it was not a bad joke from a friend or a random psycho on the Net. But she was very convincing in her mail and the picture she sent, also helped.

Anyway, without giving details of our intensive mail thread, one thing was sure. We wanted to meet as soon as possible. Hence, the short notice. Unfortunately, she has a very tight and full schedule, but luckily, my boss is very flexible.

Since Rania had no plans of telling her family and work that she was going to meet me, we couldn't spend as much time together as we had hoped. But the little time we did spend together, it was great. Again, no details.

Since we didn't spend so much time together, I had to find some other way to entertain myself. So what does floR do when he is bored? He goes to find a cemetary for his graveyard picture collection.

I regret that I didn't take more pictures of Rania than I did. And movies. My new Canon Ixus 300, I bought in Andorra, can record short movies and the 2 movies I have of her, are worth more to me than the camera itself. Uhm... okay, maybe I exaggerate a bit.

Monday morning she left me, not knowing if we would ever meet again. I think we will. I hope we will.
