floR's travels - a tourist's eye

These pages are a selection of my photographs, many of which I took while travelling on vacation. What you will find here are pictures I took and memories, mostly with a funny, cynical and sometimes even philosophical twist. I put them online in case people might find the travel-stories helpful in any way.

• Sweden - project (february - august 1996)
  Diary of out-of-the-ordinary events and other things worth mentioning, which happened during my 7 month stay in Ronneby, Blekinge.
• Greece - project (september 1996 - january 1997)
  Things I noticed about the Greek culture that were completely different from what I was used to. Five months of working in Thessaloniki and trips to Meteora, Halkidiki and Mount Olympus.
• Vienna, Austria - conference (october 1996)
  A brief report of the week I stayed in Vienna for a conference.
• Czech Republic and Poland - vacation with Liset (september 1998)
  Two weeks vacation in the Czech Republic, traveling through the northern half. Hrensko, Decin, Adrsbach, Broumov, Ricky, Hradec Kralove, Jicin, Turnov and a lot of difficult names and, of course, Prague. Including a short diversion through Poland.
• Cyprus - vacation with Liset (february 1999)
  In between jobs, so an ideal time for a short vacation. Although it was February, we went to Cyprus. Not that warm, but not that cold either. From our hotel in Larnaca we made trips to Ayia Napa, Choirokoitia, Limassol/Lemesos, Protaras and Paphos.
• Switzerland and Italy - vacation with Elmar and Remco (july 1999)
  One week with the guys. Since Elmar is living in Switzerland, Remco and I of course had to check the place out. We took the opportunity to take a small vacation in Portofino, Italy.
• Egypt - vacation with Liset (september 1999)
  Two weeks of sweating, snorkeling and getting sunburnt. An absolutely relaxing vacation in Hurghada, at the Red Sea. We took a 1-day bus tour to Luxor, but only for the necessary culture.
• Sweden revisited - vacation with Liset (june 2000)
  When I lived in Sweden, I didn't have a camera, so I had to revisit Ronneby. Apart from that, we stayed a week in mid-south Sweden, near Gränna. Great rally roads and amazing surroundings.

  One week of complete intoxication. Nevertheless, we had a great time.

• United States - vacation with Remco (october 2001)
  A two week vacation during which we visited Indianapolis for the Formula 1 Grand Prix and San Francisco.
• Madeira, Portugal - vacation with Liset (february 2002)
  One week cruising around the island in a rental car.
