flor.nl - a regular weekend at the floR residence
Since 2 years or something Remco and Anis come over to my house Friday
nights and we play with Remco's Dreamcast, play network games, watch a
video or TV or just hang. These pictures were taken during such a weekend.
 The
main reason, I think, for us taking all these pictures was Elmar who suggested
that he'd like pix of us. So Remco borrowed his dad's Sony Cybershot and
started snapping away at our cars and my house. And in the evening at
ourselves and each other. These first two was Remco's attempt to get us
all in one shot. The first one obviously failed utterly, while the second
is a rather professional Blair Witch kind of photo. Anyway...
 This
is Anis. Truely happy when hugging his bottle of real Sambuca.
Although his facial expression might indicate otherwise, he's not drunk
on that picture.
  Not
a fan of Sambuca, Remco likes his Metz instead. And of course, he likes
to smoke...
I have no clue who this guy is, but he vaguely resembles me. No wonder he's trying to avoid the camera.
Remco
sometimes brings his entire PC system including 17" monitor and FourPointSurroundSystem
to my house and when Remco and I are ColinMcraeRally2-ing, Anis can't
join, because his laptop won't allow him and he doesn't have a steering
wheel, so he focuses for example on learning Flash or Javascript. And
being the helpful guru that I am, I assist him with any question he might
have :-)
 When
time has passed, alcohol has flowed and grass has been burnt, Anis's clumsiness
quotient dramatically increases. In this particular situation, he spilled
some liquid near Liset's computer.
The almost infamous "how to roll a joint - the Dutch way" tutorial
step
0 - prerequisites
This is the key ingredient: the weed, marijuana, bud, pot, grass.
step
1 - preparing the marijuana
From the initial bud, a fair amount is plucked into small crumbs.
step
2 - miscellaneous ingredients
Optional, but common is to add the tobacco of two-thirds of a cigarette
(not light!).
step
3 - overview
Besides having prepared the marijuana and tobacco, by now a tip
for the joint has to be rolled.
step
4 - ready to build
Equally having distributed the ingredients on the Smoking
paper and the tip in place, the joint is now ready to be rolled.
step
5 - construction
Once the tricky part is finished - folding the paper around the
tip - it is only a matter of applying pressure in a rolling motion
and attaching the paper to itself, using saliva.
step
6 - finished
If all goes well, a firm joint should now be the result of less
than 5 minutes labour.
the
end - smoke 'em if you got 'em
By tradition, the creator has the honour of lighting the joint.
Enjoy, Remco!
After this tutorial, a couple of years later, Remco and Anis tried to bake a space cake. Yes, that's cake with enchanted herbal additions, hidden in a culinary piece of art. I was there to take photographs.
The almost infamous "how to bake a space cake - the Dutch way" tutorial
step 0 - prerequisites
These are the ingredients we used. A slight variation is possible: 200gr butter, 1 box cake mix, 2 bags of vanilla sugar, 4 spoons of milk and 4 eggs.
step 0 - prerequisites
Don't forget the weed. In this case, about 8 grams was used, or the amount for 20 joints. Crumble the weed buds.
step 1 - boil the weed
Boil water, toss the weed in it and stir until the weed is all wet.
step 2 - add butter
Add butter to the water and wet weed.
step 3 - boil the weed and butter
Let the mixture boil for about an hour and keep stirring once in a while. If all goes well, you will notice a smell of spinach.
step 4 - take out the weed
The THC will have mixed through the butter mix by now and since we don't want shit through our cake, take out the weed.
step 5a - cooling down
Cool down the mixture overnight, so the fat (weed butter) can separate from the water.
step 5b - cooling down
Or put it in the fridge for a few hours.
step 6 - take out the butter
The pan will now contain water and a sturdy surface. That surface is the weed butter. Take it out.
step 7 - mix the shit
Put the butter, together with the cake mix, milk and eggs in a bowl and mix it until you have ...

... this.
step 8 - fill the template
Grease up the template for the cake and fill it with the mix.
step 9 - bake the cake
Put the mix in the pre-heated oven and watch it rise.
step 10 - admire the cake
The cake is done! Look at that golden brown colour!
the end - chow time
Time to test. It won't kick in until a few hours, so be careful how much you eat. Enjoy!
